Pillar Mountain...what not to do...

First pretty view from the top of Pillar Mountain
why are the construction workers walking down the mountain?

Look next to the middle orange vester..

Oh that is why they are walking down the hill.
One of them got their truck stuck...
Thankfully I left after taking a few pictures and they came back down the ROAD on the mountain in one piece.
So what not to do:
When there are signs all over the mountain saying "NO OFF ROAD VEHICLES" and "STAY ON THE ROAD" do not go off roading because the rules do not apply to you and your cool SUV... boys.

Happy Fathers Day

Happy Fathers Day Dad. Thank you for all you have done for me. You have instilled your sense of adventure and love of the outdoors in me . Teaching me to always follow my heart and do what I love. Miss you lots can wait to see you in a month!

Another Sunday

Today I slept in, which was WONDERFUL! Then I finished the book my mommy sent me "Two for the Dough" By Janet Evanovich... very very good I highly recommend the series about Stephanie Plum. Ate some tator tots for breakfast (they are kinda like hash browns right?) along with some coffee and then went on a want to Mission Beach and picked up some sea glass. No idea what I am going to do with the sea glass but it is pretty. I got a great laugh at the beach. In the picture above you can see a few dogs. Well their owner would throw one tennis ball, the black dog would go after it. Then the owner would throw a 2nd one which the 3 little dogs would run after. The black dog would get the first one and the pick the 2nd one up on his way back it was so so funny. Now I am sitting on my little patio in Kodiak soaking up some rare sunshine and updating all you people. (and enjoying a glass of cheapish red wine)

So what else is new. Other than working 65-80 hours a week not much. The project is progressing nicely there have been a few hiccups along the way with some choice words from the foreman but nothings that can't be resolved fairly easy. I have just under 3 weeks left out here, I will be back in Anchorage on the 8th of July.

Mike is super busy. He is moving our stuff from condo B to E! I am so freaking excited about the move. The new place will have granite counter tops, pretty floors and a new garage door with an opener!! Mike favorite thing is that a full surround sound system, with speakers has been installed, all we have to do is hook up the TV. I still can not believe that we have been up in Alaska for nearly 2 years now, where does the time go.

I have to give a shout out to G&G I who celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Friday and renewed their vows on Saturday. I am so sorry that we could not be there but I know Mike is so excited to visit with you soon.

Four Months

Callen,
I cannot believe that it have been 4 months since you left us. I miss you so much. I miss having to call you to remind you about mother day, moms birthday, fathers day and other stuff. I look at pictures of you and truly treasure the brother that you are to me. Last night I went over to a co-workers house for dinner. She has 2 sons and a daughter. He middle son is CRAZY, and totally reminds me of you running around the house making up games and bugging his big sister. I wish I could go back and play more with you, instead of being the annoyed older sister. I wish I could call you and tell you that you were the best little brother EVER, but I have to settle with telling you over the Internet and with my heart. I hope you take care of your self up there, please send me your love.
XOXO
Megan

Well hello there

Sorry I have been neglecting my blog this past week. Mike left Kodiak on Thursday and is now back in Anchorage working. Work has been kicking my butt. I leave the apartment at 6:50 am and get done on the job site normally between 5:30 and 6. I come "home" eat and then go to the office to write a report which takes between 1 and 2 hours depending on how much was done at work that day. Then Friday night I had to inspect a 2nd project. So I went to my normally project until 6pm and then went to another site form 6:30 until 11 PM. Which means I did not write my report. So last night Saturday, yes they/I work Saturday too, after work I went to the office for 3.5 hours. I wanted to get everything done so I did not have to go in today but my brain died at about 10:30. So I have to go in again today.

In other news MIKE SOLD THE VAN!!! We have had it posted on Craig's list since before I left Anchorage. Mike had met with a few people before he came out here but no one serious. Yesterday he met a couple at REI at 3. By 3:15 he called and said they had countered and we sold it for $1,800! Way more than any dealer would have given us for a trade in!

Now when I get back from Kodiak we can go car shopping for real! I already know it is going to be crazy when I get back between trying to get the new condo put together, getting the new car and of course work. I will try to post some pictures tonight.
